This year, HSNO celebrates its 45th anniversary as a company. Originally founded in 1973 as William K. Kinsel, an Accountancy Corporation, the firm initially started as a small, conventional accounting firm, helping clients with bookkeeping, small audits, and other routine work. As the partnership evolved, with the departure of William Kinsel and the addition of new partners, so too did the firm’s name. In 2000, we became known as Hagen, Streiff, Newton & Oshiro, Accountants P.C., otherwise known as HSNO.
Over the years, HSNO has undergone significant change and growth. From its origins in southern California, we then opened an office in San Francisco in 1977, and later expanded to New York, Providence, Atlanta, and other locations throughout the country. The aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 was a watershed period for our team, which grew to support insurer clients as they processed over $2 billion in claims arising from the disaster. HSNO’s work for large insurers gradually led to the organic development of the firm’s forensic accounting and litigation support practices, which today makes up a substantial part of its work. We are proud of our strong, international reputation for our work in these areas.
Despite the changes and growth HSNO has experienced over the decades, we have retained a consistent business culture that forms the bedrock of our success. We strive to give our employees space to pursue the work they love, to experiment and grow. Blended with this entrepreneurial spirit is a commitment to teamwork. HSNO’s partners share the work, leveraging their broad mix of experience to give clients the most value. This hands-on approach is a major reason why HSNO is a special place to work, and a unique resource for our clients.
If you are looking for accounting support for your business, or you are handling litigation that could benefit from the expert testimony of experienced forensic accounting professionals, HSNO is here to help. Contact us today to find out how our firm can address your needs.
