Mark Newton is a CPA licensed in California and Washington. He specializes in the measurement of economic damages, business valuation and forensic accounting. His case experience has involved almost every industry during his long career with HSNO.

He has particular expertise with regard to corporate fiduciary responsibilities, construction disputes, construction defect economic loss, economic impacts from contract and partnership disputes, PSA/earn out disputes, GAAP with regard to contracts, fraud investigation, lost profits and alter ego analysis. Many of Mr. Newton’s lost profit cases involve valuation issues with experience in trademarks and other intellectual property.

Mr. Newton has testified as an expert in hundreds of cases with venues in State Court, Federal Court, arbitrations and insurance appraisals. He has also testified before the International Trade Commission in Washington, DC regarding patent infringement. Mr. Newton has been appointed on several occasions to act as a neutral expert or to provide an independent accounting for multiple parties involved in a dispute.

Mr. Newton opened the firm’s San Francisco area office, now located in Oakland, in 1977 and also opened HSNO’s Seattle office in 2005. He served on the firm’s management committee for much of his career and also as the Managing Partner for seven years until 2015. Mr. Newton currently co-manages the Seattle and Oakland offices and continues to work on special projects for the overall benefit of HSNO.
