What’s New At HSNO?

What’s New at HSNO?

From our most recent newsletter. At HSNO, we have some really exciting new things bubbling up. Check them out:

Munich Secondment Assignment

In February of 2014, HSNO was honored to be asked to offer an experienced member of the firm to work with a client on a Secondment in Munich, Germany. As is common in the UK and Western Europe insurance hubs, the large insurance carriers and syndicates desire to have experts in various fields assist their internal claims departments on a temporary basis. HSNO saw this as an excellent opportunity to deepen its knowledge in the insurance industry so we may better assist all of our clients.

Micah Pilgrim from our Seattle office will be in Munich with his family from August 1 through October 31.  It is our hope that this is the first of many Secondments HSNO will have the opportunity to participate in. Each opportunity, as a whole, offers the firm the occasion to assist the client while developing a better understanding of the claims process so that we can provide greater service to all HSNO clients. Our goal is to continually grow and learn with the industries we serve, as we strive to continue to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients across the multitudes of industries we serve.

Introducing Misty Glover

I grew up in the Tri-Cities, Tennessee, in the Appalachian Mountains, but found my home in Texas after completing my college education at Texas A&M University. Through the Professional Program in the Department of Accounting I obtained an internship with KPMG, which led to a full-time position upon graduation in Audit and Assurance Services. I enjoyed my time with KPMG, but when the opportunity to move into the more appealing field of Forensic Accounting presented itself at Matson, Driscoll & Damico.

While at MDD I finished sitting for the CPA exam and began working on losses pertaining to large retail companies, apartment complexes, cable communications, manufacturing companies, product recall, employee dishonesty, arson litigation cases, and agricultural losses. After almost four and a half years with MDD, I was offered a job to start an in-house forensic accounting arm at BPO Technical Services. During this time I obtained my CFE and MAFF designations.

In 2013, Tom Powell, owner of BPO, and I decided to turn the forensic accounting arm of BPO into its own company. We successfully launched eXcell Forensics, which was well received by the industry.

After thoroughly enjoying the challenge of building eXcell, I was presented with the opportunity to join HSNO and open our new Houston office. After great and measured consideration, I decided that opening the Houston office was an opportunity I could not pass up. I am very excited to build the Houston office along with HSNO as a whole.

On a more personal note, I met my husband, Matt, six years ago. Matt is a high school engineering teacher and also is the Varsity Assistant – Full Backs Coach and Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach at Taylor High School in Katy. We will have been married four years in December and have a Maltese, Lexi, who is currently our only “child.” We enjoy travelling, the mountains, having fun and spending time with our family and friends.

I am very excited about this new journey with HSNO and look forward to all the opportunities that I know await the Houston office and HSNO as a whole. I look forward to meeting everyone and helping to make this firm stronger and larger.
